Wakiso Water Candle · Limited Edition
This candle was created to support the fundraising efforts of The White Feather Foundation in its endeavor to construct a well at the Jokolera Spring in Wakiso, Uganda.
Access to clean water is scarce in Wakiso, where women and children primarily bear the responsibility of collecting it for the community. Nearby Jokolera Spring unfortunately becomes contaminated during the rainy season via animals and human excrement in nearby in-ground toilet holes.
The next closest water source is a borehole located 10 km away, and the journey is treacherous. When a woman and 7-year-old girl drowned earlier this year attempting to fetch water, a plan was devised to end these struggles. The solution is a deep water well to be dug at the Jokolera Spring source, protected by a wall so the water is covered, removing vulnerability of contamination.

Scented with: Organic Eucalyptus and Sweet Orange oils for purifying, cleansing, joy, clarity and love.
Organic herbs, including:
- Chamomile – for purification and protection; native to Africa and used for centuries to aid in calming anxiety and settling stomachs. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can promote muscle relaxation.
- Hibiscus – for promoting love, tranquility and divination; native to Africa, it goes by the names Bissap in West Africa and Karkade in North Africa.
- Yellow oleander – associated with spiritual renewal and cleansing, and has been used for divination and dreamwork.
- Dragon’s blood – In South America, this herb is known for attracting good luck and love. In India, it’s used as a ceremonial incense. In Africa, it’s used to increases the strength of a spell, attract money and purify homes and places.
This candle is topped with ethically-harvested Chrysocolla, known as the “Wise Woman Stone” or “The Goddess Stone.” It has the ability to calm the mind, reduce mental tension, and offer a sense of renewed strength. It is said to have a deep feminine energy.
Every ingredient was hand-picked to honor the mission of clean water and the people the well will support.
