A “stone of courage,” Dragon’s Bloodstone is actually a variety of quartz that displays flecks and veins of red within an opaque green background. It is mined in South Africa.
Legend says the stone is the remains of deceased ancient dragons. The green is the skin, and the red the blood.
It gives us courage to face difficulties head-on, with honesty, determination, creativity and practicality.

Dragon’s Blood Jasper, aka Bastite, is a variety of microcrystalline Quartz known as Chalcedony. It has a hexagonal crystal system and is found only in Western Australia. Dragons Blood Jasper is a gorgeous stone with rich hues of red and green. The deep green and red colors are made up of Epidote and Piemontite matrix, which are commonly found in metamorphic rocks.
