According to Jewish legend, God formed Lilith as the first woman in the same way that he formed Adam, from the soil. Adam demanded she lay beneath him, and she refused. So he raped her. In some tellings, he demanded she lay beneath him without laying a hand on her.
She left the Garden of Eden (obviously furious) and took her place as a demon in patriarchal society. She is seen as a guiding goddess in the shadows. (Lilith later returns to the garden of Eden as the serpent who tempts Eve.)
Lilith is a goddess of freedom.
Her name means “The Night,” but the origin of her name is in the Sumerian word “lilitu” which means wind spirit.
From the beginning, she has been associated with chaos, sexuality, and witchcraft.
Carl Jung believed the Lilith archetype could help awaken the repressed feminine — not just of women, but of everyone.

Candle comes in a reusable glass jar with a glass lid, available in 8 oz and 12 oz. Scented with lavender, bergamot, chamomile and ylang-ylang. Topped with garnet, hematite, shungite, a white feather and silver glitter. Herbs include apple blossoms, mugwort, bay leaf, basil, allspice, sage, rose, cockscomb, marjoram, moonwort, among others.
